I didn't start heartworm meds, 'till mine were 6 months old...First, to get some weight on them, and Second, because even if they had been biten by an infected mosquito, it wouldln't be mature, anyway...I don't use ANY meds, except heartworm, but I'm down here in S.E.Texas, and you just can't take any chances...Our mosquitoes are the biggest on the planet (just like everything in Texas )
