The dress is very nice - but may be a little too formal if your friend says casual. Baring shoulders is fine in most Catholic churches.
A good rule of thumb for Catholic Christenings - if the Baptism is part of the mass, dress up a little bit more. If it is separate from the mass and is s a service on it's own, casual is good. Godparents and parents will usually be the dressiest.....
