So when you give someone money, that in itself is highly reinforcing, you have also given them your stamp of approval. No one is criticizing you, you did what you thought was best at the time, I'm only suggesting that "I hope next time you really take your time and support a good breeder." How is this moralizing or criticizing? No one said you are not a good person; most of us have bought dogs from really bad breeders, and have had to learn the hard way why it's so important to support good breeders. I had two children when I bought a little Cairn terrier from a byb, who also lied to me. This dog inherited a genetic illness, and my two children watched in horror as out beloved littler dog died a miserable death. Things like that make you become an advocate for good breeding. I do hope you will have better luck than I had, and I hope your baby will be a healthy dog. I'm am very sorry if you felt I was criticizing you, this forum is a great way to educate others on why it's important to find a good breeder and what to look for and questions to ask, and how to tell the difference between a good and bad breeder. I'm only trying to help others as those before me, helped me. | I am sorry about your loss. I can empathize with any loss of an animal. I currently own another dog, that came from a breeder that ended up having very bad skin allergies. He is almost 9 years old. I learned a very good lesson. That is why I called and spoke with the breeder and asked the appropriate questions..... It was all lies...... but I still could not leave without giving this beautiful puppy a wonderful home. We all take chances, even sometimes reputable breeders have pups with genetic faults.... I can take a little criticism, but that it not at all why I am on here. I understand that you want people to be educated when they purchase a puppy, but sometimes your emotions and love take over. |
