this has happened to my yorkie, too. My yorkie started jumping on our bed as I was falling asleep. I looked up and realized that she was choking. I remembered that my mom said you turn babies upside down to try and shake the object out. I tried that and it didn't work. I was lucky to stick my finger down her throat and get it out. It could have fallen further down her throat but I was lucky. Thank you for making everyone aware of this procedure.
And don't let your yorkie play with stuffed animals which have plastic parts that may be a choking hazard. My dog had chewed the eyeball off of one of her stuffed animals. We are much more careful about what she gets to play with now. |
