Must agree w/ the other posts, you are lucky to have puppy time before getting him! My 1st was really hard because she was a shy dog to begin with. then to pull her from her brothers n sisters to come to an only dog home was hard for her. It was expecially hard to not "coddle" her when she was scared. but after about 2 weeks she was fine. except nighttime. she would whine and cry that it made me cry. so being the bad mama i am, at 4 months she was already sleeping with me. I must add the short story to this; i had just gotten back from deployment to iraq and my husband was still there. so being in an empty house was hard, so i got honey. so being alone in a bed was really hard for me, hence why i gave in to her sleeping w/ me... Anyway, she peed on the bed a few times but nothing drastic.... anyway i'm getting off course here :P. My advice is simple give him his space. let him whine and get used to his surroundings. if you coddle him, he will become possessive over you and expect to be picked up all the time. Best of luck to you and your new addition! They are the best!
