Pain was the first thing that came to mind for me too. Also during your recovery did you spoil her more (let her get away with things you normally wouldn't). These little buggars are so much like toddlers, it could be behavioral. My youngest skin kid (25 now) had appendicitis when he was 5, it ruptured and he was sick for like 2 months, we let him get away with murder because he felt so bad. It took almost 1 year to get his behavior back under control. lol
