Wow, how cool that you can slowly introduce the puppy to his new home. You are lucky to have this time. I'm sure that he will adjust, it will just take some time and patients. Also puppies do get tired quickly, maybe he was just a little overwhelmed and needed to be with you because he felt safe there. Next time give him a chance to explore and then if he wants to be with you, let him he may go back to exploring after a rest. You're doing right having the children leave the pup alone until he feels safe. Children should not handle the puppy unless they are sitting down calmly. If one of these little ones wiggly out of a child's arms they can be seriously injured. Use the same instinct you used with your newborn children. Safety first. Welcome to YT.
