Gulf Coast gal here too. We always evacuate to Austin, TX. I'm planning to get a list of vets/emergency vet clinics that are close to where we stay. Our immunization records are available online through our vet's website, but I'm planning on taking a paper copy as well.
If my boy is sick or injured, I don't want to spend any prescious time looking for someone who can help us.
Better safe than sorry.
