Luigi is now 6 monthes old, and from the time we got him, I always left water out for him. And he goes outside 5-6 times a day. There have been 2 times that I was unable to get home during the day to let him out and he was in there for 8 hours, and he did not have one accident.!!!! So they can hold it for awhile. They should be fine for about 4-5 hours at a time. I started taking him out in the beginning every hour but most of the time he wouldn't go. He would go about every 3 or 4 times when I took him out every hour. So I startred waiting 2 hours to take him out. Then after he was used to that, I would take him every 3 hours. And when he got used to that, I now take him out every 4 hours. And of course, when we wake up and always ALWAYS before bedtime, even if he was just out not long before that!!! So, they can have water all day, which my breeder told me to never take that away, they can dehydrate so fast. And they can hold thier peepee if you train them the right way!!!! |
