I just wanted to add that if you really only plan to breed him one time, you might want to rethink it as breeding a dog even just one time can change things drastically. Once all those undesirable habits are ingrained, it will be much more difficult to break.... Sorry.....

i agree with both posters. He is probably marking and probably has been marking other areas but you just haven't noticed. get a black light and check the areas he's mainly in. Breeding "just one time" can still have dramatic effects on him even if you neuter him shortly afterward.

most people with intact males use belly bands to prevent them from peeing on things in the house. They will still mark but the pee will be going into the band instead of on your furniture.

Also if he's peeing frequently and in inappropriate spots it could be a urinary tract infection. Is he drinking more water then usual?
