I'm getting my nearly 8mth old boy neutered and called my usual vet for a quote. I was expecting @ £60 or so but was shocked to be quoted £135!!! A quick call around 4 other vets showed me their price was within the £50-£70 mark.
My question is what to do??
My usual vet is actually my horse vet, they are more expensive butthey are the best large animal vet in my area and I rust them with the horses but my other pets are elsewhere. I registered my pup with them as he needed his jabs when we had terribel snow (and no car) and as we has a vet coming for one of the horses we got her to give our pup his initial shots and check over.
In other circumstances I would go with the cheaper quote (and nearer actually) but the expensive vets asked how much my pup weighed and I wondered if that had a bareing (ie, costs more for little dogs?).
What do you think?
