My brother lives in Des Plaines and the widespread flooding/storm damage the past couple of years has been terrible.

Our family lived in Park Ridge during the '80s and we never saw anything like what you are experiencing up there now. The Des Plaines River would flood every once in awhile, but the water didn't go very far.
