Yeah, You gave him exactly what he needed his space and enough time to trust you. Just keep giving him his space and whenever you can pet him and tell him how beautiful of a cat he truely is!!!! I love persians. I have a customer who comes in every saturday with her calico Persian and it gives me kitty kisses and last time it even play swatted me. It was funny because the mom was like "claws in." I thought it was adorable. usually the cat would just sit in her carrier and let me pet her and rub her underneath her chin. it's funny cause she kinda snorts.(because of her flat face.) Persians are so beautiful. Bless your heart for taking her in and having patience. My mom when I was younger tried doing that same thing, but after so long got sick of not seeing the cat and ended up giving her away. I don't remember if she took her to a shelter or gave her to someone. But I can only hope that she gave her to someone like you.
