Your girl is big enough to be spayed. Just make sure your vet is well versed in working with Toy Breeds. The proper anesthetic and precautions must be taken and in all breeds. Your vet has provided you with a generality time frame. Larger breeds do experience their first heat cycle at approximately 6 months. Average for yorkies is anywhere between 8-14 months of age.

Each male is different, some nuetered males will be completely unaffected, others can be enticed by that intact female......Never under estimate the power's of a female that wants to be bred.
