also i just read that you are keeping a sock over it all the time. that isn't a good idea either. the sock makes the splint too warm, which causes moisture, which in turn causes bacteria/infections. the splint needs to be able to breath so please only cover it when its potty time. get a water bottle for him to drink out of so he doesn't step in his dish either.

I see you are letting him play around too. i know he is a puppy and its hard to keep him confined but you really need to do this if you want everything to heal properly. i've seen what can happen to a leg when the dog is too active. those with splints on that didn't need surgery in the beginning sometimes end up needing it after a few weeks because the bones aren't healing right. Or the splint rubs against the leg so much it causes pressure sores which then get infected and the skin starts to slough off. its not pretty and you don't want to have to spend even more money on something that could have been prevented.
