honestly you should NOT have given him a bath. I used to be a surgical vet tech for an orthopedic surgeon and that was a major rule. a plastic bag isn't going to be enough protection because you can't exactly tell the dog to hold his arm out of the tub while he takes a bath. Another rule, if the splint gets wet or damaged you need to take him in to get it redone. moisture can build up inside the padding of the splint creating a dark, warm, and moist environment which is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. also if he is active in his splint the motion causes the splint to rub against the leg making a sore. so now you have a wet splint and a sore, and usually that spells infection.
