You'll get a lot of advice on the nylabone issue. Some people love them, others hate them because they could potentially splinter off. I use the softer puppy versions (they feel more rubbery that the normal ones) and the blue dental one. I've never had any problems.

Another thing Rhett loves to chew on is a sock filled with ice cubes. Some people will tell you to not do that either, because the dog may then decide that all socks belong to him. It works for me though. I also use carrots, but they are a bit messy.

Bully sticks are another great item, but like all chewies, you will have to keep an eye on your boy while he is enjoying them. Avoid rawhide bones/strips. It's too easy for those to break in to pieces and cause a choking hazard. They have also been known to swell in a dogs stomach and cause obstructions.
