We signed Teddy up for doggie daycare when he was a puppy since he had a lot of fears. We did not want him to go alone, so Barney and Daisy had to go too. Each dog had a different view of the place. Teddy was a little nervous but came out of his shell, Daisy liked it the least and just hung out with a Maltese most of the time did not interact with any of the pups, and Barney loved it - they called him "the Patrolman" -- he taught the puppies new things and he maintained order amongst the daycare pups. Our doggie daycare is run by an excellent trainer and her staff and small dogs and puppies are separated from larger dogs. I felt very comfortable dropping them off and leaving them for the day. They had a lot of fun.

A good place will evaluate your dog's level of interest in daycare and also whether he/she gets along with other dogs. All of our dogs are dog friendly so it was pretty easy but they were not always so tolerant with puppies (until Teddy forced that on them!).

Good luck!
