If you have the option to take your little one to work with you, that is wonderful and there is no reason, he HAS to stay home all the time... if you want to keep him home that is a different story.

However, your pup should learn some level of independence. You could leave him home in the morning for example, and then go get him at lunch... or leave him at home while you do other things at night, or on the weekends. Since he is so used to being with you and being destructive when you are gone, you should slowly work up the time he is left alone and I agree with maximo on the crate issue.
