You very well may get a reward as well as a heads up to where a local breeder is from the owners of the dog.

Give yourself at least a month long window to find the owners. At that point you should start to buy things for the dog. Like a bed and special bowls.

When you post flyers don't mention the dog had the dress on at the time. let that be the identifying factor for the real owners. You may also be asked to send photos to someone who thinks she could be theirs. The owners are much better to judge or gage from a photo then you would be to see an older photo of them. So please don't assume that just because the dogs hair is longer or shorter then any photos posted that it can't be their missing dog.

Last but not least have a vet look the dog over check for any signs of spay and other type surgeries she may of had. Get a full check up with blood work and understand that every dog can have health issues even tho they look fine. If you find that the dog has a problem and you can't afford to cover the cost please contact a rescue and tell them the full story about the dog including how you came across her.

Beyond that if she's not your forever baby I sure hope you find yours soon.
I've already had the Vet look her over this last weekend. She (the vet) said she's approx 3y/o. and guessed that based on looking at Molly's (the dog) teeth. She couldn't quite tell if she'd been spayed yet. She said we'd probably need to shave her first.

She said she looks very healthy. The vet knows I found her. She told me to keep searching for the owner, but that if I hear nothing in the next 3-4 weeks to bring her in for a full check-up, which I have no problem doing. The thing is, I'm not even looking for a reward. She is a sweet, fun yorkie that has brought so much light into my life these past few weeks..I can only imagine how her owners are feeling..

The reason I am asking is because from the description of her wearing a dresss this is someone's pet and they are probably looking for her. If it happened yesterday they may not have covered as much area as they would have in two weeks.

Have you taken her to a vet to see if she is Micro chipped? That would be my first stop.

Thank you for keeping her safe and taking care of her. Good luck finding her owners.
I'm sorry about the confusion. Yes, this Saturday will be 2 weeks since I've found her. I didn't proofread this posting. I double-posted on another forum I'm on asking them yorkie questions. Sorry for the added confusion.

Within the first 2 days I had her, I had her checked for a microchip and there was none.
