JMO, your momma need to be on amoxicillin. Anytime I have a momma get hard teats I put her on amoxicillin and by the next day they return to normal. It does not sound to me like your vet knows much about how to care for your momma. Are you giving the momma a calcium supplement? The shaking could be due to low calcium and the onset of eclampsia. Her higher temperature could also be a indication of low calcium.

I have heard that a cabbage compress helps reduce the hardness of the teats also.
