Oh wow how scary for you... I know what you went through, I used to have a Miniture Schnauzer that got into some firecrackers... We had a friends 8 year old's son here for a little while dureing the 4th and OMG talk about a child that doesn't listen EVER... I told him 4 times to put the sparklers up off the floor so the dog didn't get into them. I kept hearing , I will. Stupid me belived that he would. One day the dog was acting sick, and I went looking for what could have made him sick, here there were 4 sparkers chewed on, each one a little further down then the next one. Lucky me the dog made it thorough that ordeal but boy was I angry at that child.

So glad to hear that your babies made it through, things happen, just glad to hear that they are ok!!

My boyfriend was working on a project at home. Our front door has a window, and it cracked, so he needed to replace the window in the door and glue it in. He is always very careful about keeping all of his supplies out of the boys' reach, but when he got a call to pick me up from work early, he ran out the door without realizing that he left a container of adhesive on the counter.

Well.. as some of you may know.. my cat likes to swat things on the ground, then my dogs like to tear them up.

Unfortunately, this time it wasn't a scarf. My cat swat down the bottle of adhesive, and my boys started chewing on that thing like there was no tomorrow. The cap was really chewed up, but so were the sides of the tube. When I got home, about 30 minutes later, I found the tube on the couch, and there was adhesive spewing out of all corners of it. Jimi had sticky stuff all in his fur on his paws, and Marshall had the same residue all over his face. I was devastated. Not only did one of my dogs ingest this stuff, but BOTH did. I tried not to panic, but once I read the back of the tube and saw all of the warnings, "If ingested, call poison control immediately," I became a wreck. The first thing I did was call my vet. Of course.. it was a SUNDAY. (Don't bad things always happen on the weekend or holidays when you can't get ahold of anyone?) I paged my vet multiple times and she never got back to me. I called an emergency hospital and they told me to call the animal poison control center, so I did. They told me that the two main ingredients in the adhesive, petroleum distillate and tourlene can cause severe brain depression and neurological damage. Needless to say, both of my boys were rushed to the emergency vet.

Hundreds of dollars and many tears later, they are just fine. Apparently Marshall did ingest more adhesive than Jimi, but neither of them had enough in their system to do any damage. Thank goodness.. I don't know what I would do without them!

This 1 oz., $3 tube almost cost me my boys' lives.

This whole ordeal makes me realize how truly grateful I am for having my 2 boys who are happy and healthy. It also made me see how obsessed I am with them. I called my mom at one point during all of this and she told me, "Goodness with the way you are acting you would think Jimi and Marshall are your children!" What??? Are they not?

Anyways, hug your furbabies real tight for me tonight. Also- keep everything hazardous out of their reach. I don't ever want anyone else to go through something like this.

Sorry this is all so long, but with everything going on, I also forgot Jimi's birthday.
Sorry baby boy, happy 1st birthday, on May 24th.

(By the way, I know I need to post new pics of the boys, I am working on it. )
