I panicked the first time it happened to Max. Poor guy, I was desperately looking around in his throat and didn't notice the wet hair wrapped around the corner of his mouth.
This is just another very helpful thing I learned here at YT. Now I know to look along the lip line for hair when he does the gulping move you described.
