Our dogs are trained to go inside and outside. They prefer to go outdoors but it's not always an option (winters are cold and they hate snow). We just gave them the command to "BE CLEAN" where ever we wanted them to go. We used a clicker and food rewards. The adults are very reliable and Teddy is getting much better (he's been tough to train, due to some urinary medical issues we think). So yes, you can do in and out for pottying. Good luck!
