My vet told me that there are two kinds of drugs to put dogs under. (That he uses) One of the drugs they come to faster and one of them they take about 12 hours to come out of it. He said he likes to use the slower acting stuff because he feels that it is better for the dog because they are in pain the first few hours and they are still wanting to sleep and feeling less pain.
He also wanted to keep him overnight because of this. I agreed but I didn't want to leave my baby overnight. When I got there at 8:00 am in the morning to pick him up he was like nothing ever happened to him no pain and no pain pills. I trust my vet to make the best decision for my dogs and he has never failed me yet
