least amount of discomfort is a free catch. There are risks in putting a needle in a bladder unlike free catch and the only thing different is a little extra bacteria big deal never been a problem in 3 dogs for 6 years. Nothing more a cysto is going to tell me than a free catch so why take the risk. A vet will tell you there can be complications they cannot guarantee no complications and i have discussed this with internal medicine specialist as well and Jean Dodds who i trust and both said cysto is not necessary
