My daughter is 36 now and never had any problem with the ankle after it was fixed. I guess tendon and ligament injuries don't show up in x-rays. I would let the ankle heal and then go from there. Ankles are suppose to be tight and not have much side to side movement. When she went to the surgeon he moved that ankle so far to the right and then as far back to the left. I thought he was going to spin it around. There was no doubt that the ankle definately was not stable and had to be fixed.
