I really have to chime in on the comment about the "rescue adoption fee"...are you serious?
If you can't or don't want to pay to adopt thru a rescue...I hope you are financially able to care for a shelter dogs health care. Shelters don't always provide all the care that a rescue will...which means that it'll fall upon your shoulders.
Also, to want to volunteer with your shelter should be for the love of helping animals not for the goal of finding a cheap Yorkie to adopt...just saying.
Not sure you meant it to come off this way...but, that's how it sounded.
