If liver enzymes are normal, a bile acids test can still be high, yes. It is always a good idea to get them done for Yorkies (after 20 weeks). Most owners and vets don't. It is just a precaution.
Ellie had very few symptoms and anything wrong and I'm glad we went ahead with it.
