I think this is a really important point to make, particularly in an era where smaller Yorkies are priced significantly higher than those who fall within the higher numbers of the breed standard. It really does pay to shop around and to be flexible about the sex, age, etc. of the dog you would like to adopt. It sounds like the OP has a good head on her shoulders....... good questions and a lot of thought behind postings....but I also believe it would be best for the future owner to personally select the dog. It is such a huge commitment! Keep up the search!
