I think what you are failing to see is that 3 lbs should be a fluke, runt, exception to their breeding program when it comes to Yorkies. Reputable breeders do not breed to create 3 lb Yorkies. The 3 lb Yorkie should be the exception to the rule and not a selling point from a breeders website. So if you keep looking for a breeder that is going to offer you this size Yorkie even at a very high price tag you are looking for heartache. Why do you have 3 lbs stuck in your head other than the idea that you saw a 3 lb dog on the street. What if you had seen a 5 lb Yorkie would you really have known the difference? That is still a tiny pup and they it would be much easier to find a reputable breeder that breeds to this standard. I think you also need to understand that there could be a lot of health issues involved with such a tiny undersized puppy. Most reputable breeders and show people would only consider someone with a LOT of experience to be the owner of a 3 lb pup from one of their litters. It is a HUGE responsibility to undertake having such a fragile little one to care for and much more involved then you could even imagine: I'm not trying to burst your bubble but I have 3 pups and I would be scared silly to have a 3 lbs Yorkie and I consider myself fairly knowledgeable. You have to really consider things like open fontanel, delicate bone structure, hypoglycemia, encephalitis, ~these are just a few of the things that might go along with owning such a tiny Yorkie.
I don't mean to rain on your parade but I do think that you need to consider all of these things and so much more when it comes to owners a super tiny.

If I were you I would see if I could find a few more adult Yorkies that are in the 4 to 5 lb range. I'm positive that you will see how much more hearty they are in comparison.
