I also had to have my 9 yo German Shorthaired Pointer PTS because he was ill. That was almost 14 years ago and I cry to this day when I think of it...I was with him and will never forget how his sad, painful eyes turned peaceful and his tail did wag for the first time in weeks. He was my first 'baby boy' and I loved him to pieces.
