Hi everyone! I'm a 3rd week Morkie owner and so far I've run in to a few different problems with Teddy's eating habits.
1.) He'll only eat if I'm next to him...
2.) When he does eat...he'll only eat HALF of what I give him, which is half of 1 1/4 cup.
3.) I recently switched him from Iams to Avoderm (using the 75/25 method) ...and he'll sniff it but will have nothing to do with it. So I started cutting up little bits of his favorite treat and sprinkling it in the food. This gets him to eat it ...but STILL ONLY HALF of 1 1/4 cup and ONLY if I sit next to him!!
He is 3.5 months old and I only feed him 2x a day, morning (9AM) and evening (5PM). Do you think I should start feeding him 3x a day now since he's only eating half of what is recommended for him? I don't feed him treats in between feedings...but I don't want him to starve.
By the way, he is 5.6lbs and the vet says he's okay when I told her he hasn't eaten for a whole day and when he does get to play he doesn't last very long, maybe about 30 mins and he has to take a nap.
Please help.
