Not really. It holds up it's shape pretty well, has ventilation on both sides, and when you travel on a plane, most ask for one that collapses anyway so it will fit under the seat. It's got solid padding on the bottom, a short leash thing to keep them secure, and the pockets aren't that big to be honest. You can barely fit a few potty bags in one. You really out to see it in person. Anything else I've ever seen screams "DOG IN HERE!!!" If you really want to take your pup with you on errands, or your out with him and need to run into a grocery store and you don't want to leave him in the car (which you shouldn't anyway) this bag is perfect. It's not like you'll have your dog in there for hours. No matter what the bag looks like, that wouldn't be fair to the dog.

Like today, we went shopping in a dog friendly outdoor plaza. He walked outside, but in the stores he was in the carrier with his head sticking out.
