Silky Terrier Vs Yorkshire Terrier - Proven Methods to Tell Them Apart

If your 'Yorkie' is larger than 7#, it is probably a 'Silky' and not a Yorkie.
Not true. Yorkshire Terriers were bred down from larger dogs. It's in their DNA to be larger dogs, or teenies. The guy who sold my brother his first "on my own" car had a 20 lb yorkie. I was uneducated then and replied just as you are. The standard for a show dog is 7 lbs and under. I get asked all the time "what it is." Yes, it referring to my baby. I just reply the most off standard yorkie I've seen. It's funny, some ask me if he's a teacup, others ask me if I'm sure he's a yorkie because he's so big. He's right around 7 lbs.
