Ok. Here is what the Vet said: he thinks I took her on too long of a walk (about a mile) in the heat and humidity last night and either her blood sugar dropped (shaking) or she got dehydrated - which can cause weakness and muscle cramping. He states that she can not walk as long as my Westie in this heat; she is too small; and to let her rest today and keep an eye on her.

Of course, no more beef - though he thinks these could be two separate incidents.

Keep an eye on her today; take her for a short walk tomorrow evening; monitor her during the walk and call him immediately for a blood glucose test if there is further weakness.

That's it.

Lordy. Sometimes I learn more here. I'll do the diet change on my own. I hope he knows what he's talking about. I will say he's taken excellent care of all my dogs and assures me he takes care of several liver dogs.

I'm going to see if we have any internists around here. I live in WV so I am doubtful.

Good news is - we are moving to Ohio and will be right by OSU if I need a specialist.
