I concur.
Egg is fine in moderation. Careful with the yolk. It's high in fat. If you want to homecook, it is best to talk to a veterinary nutritionist. They do phone consults (out of major veterinary hospitals and vet schools). Chicken, rice, and carrots is not balanced either. And if a dog eating homecooked has soft stools, then something is wrong with the diet or it just doesn't agree. Stools should be formed nicely...
