HOW TO BEGIN FEEDING LIFE’S ABUNDANCE Thank you for choosing Life’s Abundance Premium Health Food for your dog. Due to its superior quality, I’m confident that your dog will continue to benefit from it over the course of his or her lifetime. Please follow these recommendations for switching from your dog’s current food to the new Life’s Abundance dry food. Please remember, these are general guidelines. Some dogs are more sensitive to changes in diet than others. Some will do fine with a slightly faster change, and some will take longer. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DO NOT SWITCH TO LIFE’S ABUNDANCE OVERNIGHT. A dog’s intestinal system is unique in that it requires a slow introduction to a new diet. GRADUALLY SWITCH TO LIFE’S ABUNDANCE FROM YOUR DOG’S CURRENT DIET, OVER THE COURSE OF 5 – 7 DAYS. Review the feeding guidelines on the back label of the bag to determine the appropriate quantity of Life’s Abundance for your dog. For the first two days, feed ¼ of the recommended amount of Life’s Abundance and supplement the remaining ¾ with the older food. On the third and fourth days, feed ½ of the recommended amount of Life’s Abundance and ½ older food. On the fifth and sixth days, use ¾ of the recommended amount of Life’s Abundance and ¼ of the older food. On the seventh day, the transition period is over and you can feed Life’s Abundance according to the recommended amounts without using the previous food. HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE CONVERTING TO THE NEW FOOD CORRECTLY? The reaction of your dog’s body will be your guide. Life’s Abundance stools should be firm and small. If the stools become softer or excessive, you have switched over too quickly or may be feeding too much. If you encounter some of these issues, simply decrease the amount of Life’s Abundance you are feeding by ¼, even if it is less than the recommended amount on the chart. Continue feeding this amount until the stools become firmer and/or less frequent. REFRAIN FROM FEEDING YOUR DOG ANYTHING ELSE NEW UNTIL THE TRANSITION TO LIFE’S ABUNDANCE IS COMPLETED. Your immediate goal is to introduce and convert your dog’s diet fully to Life’s Abundance. If you add other new products (like treats or supplements) all at the same time, your dog’s intestinal tract is more likely to experience problems. Once your dog’s diet consists of Life’s Abundance food alone, feel free to add new treats and or supplements at that time. By following these helpful directions, your dog should enjoy a smooth transition to a truly superior food. Wishing you and your companion animal a lifetime of health and happiness, Dr. Jane Bicks | Thanks that is what I am doing. I think I panicked because my two always finish there food when I put it down, usually in about 5 min. they wouldn't touch their old food. I just left them alone and left there bowls down and they are going back every little bit and getting a bite of what is left in their bowl. Bogie finally finished all of his but Jada is still eating on hers. It has been 3 hrs now. They just don't like the Blue now. Maybe this will get them to not eat so fast, which is a good thing. |
