Scruffy just hit the 2 year mark in April and we took him to the vet for his annual check up. They recommeded that we get him in for a professional dental cleaning because there was some serious tartar buildup and one of his teeth were loose (one of the tiny ones on the upper side of his mouth).
I've always had a hell of a time brushing his teeth, so I have at least gotten the brush over them and some tooth paste in his mouth. Just got new treats to help with the tartar control too "Virbac Chews for Dogs". And he does only eat dry dog food.

But how often does everyone acutally get the scaling? Should I schedule it as soon as possible like the vet recommends?
