 Yorkie Clothes/Hair
I never thought I would put sweaters on a dog until I got my first yorkie the beginning of last year. This past winter was very cold and she needed sweaters/coats to keep her warm. I've just purchased another yorkie to keep my first one company and am trying to control giardia and ringworm that she has spread throughout the household (three other dogs and three people). I tried putting t-shirts on them to keep the spores down to a minimum and make it easier for me to pick up (instead of wearing gloves all the time---very contagious). The problem is that my older yorkie has long hair and becomes matted like crazy. She has very sensitive skin and hates to be combed anyways. Is this normal? Am I going to have to give her a puppy cut when it's time for sweaters again? Any suggestions? And another question...why do we love these dogs so much? I've had other dogs, but yorkies are different. My first yorkie is my empty-nest baby and she is spoiled rotten. We can't wait to spoil the second one (she is quarantined from ringworm)! My husband and I love them to death!!! |
