Rocky was my first and still is my baby... He is 3 now, (hard to belive they grow up just as fast as human children lol)
We are always going to my sisters house on weekends and whatnot, we are a close family. Well she has a golden lab pooch, Rocky was always having a lot of fun playing with her and he would be all sad a mopy when we came home. He was an only dog, lol. I have always wanted to own more then one dog all my life. Ive also wanted to own a yorkie all my life. I rent a room from my parents, sooo I had to run my idea by them before I went ahead and got another dog. My dad said I was nuts that Rocky was a handful... I then was a tad angry and said to him, "A handful? Why do you care you don't take care of him" I then got ready to duck, in case he wanted to slug me, lol. He then said "yea your right I don't take care of him but I see you picking up his toys all the time, and cleaning up his accidents. Just remember 2 dogs mean 2 times the messes." I was like well DUH. Then my mom said "Would you want another shih-tzu?" I then said, "No I was thinking more like a Yorkie" My dad said, "oh boy... they have been known to be yippy dogs." I laughed and said, "well ANY dog can be yippy if your not paying attention to them." So looonnnngggg story short, January of 09 I brought Nicky home... I wont lie at first it seemed like Nicky was getting all the loven and that Rocky's demeaner did change a little but not bad.. they were soon great friends, infact it got to the point were Rocky would walk around looking for Nicky if he wasn't on the floor and someone was holding him and he would go snuggle with the person that was holding Nicky, so they both ended up getting a lot of attention. I don't regret getting another dog, they are great company for one another and they get along great, sometimes I have to remind Rocky to be gentle with Nicky... He is a little bit bigger then him. But they are great together. I can't imagine 2 yorkies being any different... your baby would be a big sister, I think it would be great after they got to know one another!! She would have a buddy!! |
