Too Soon Sometimes the temp can go up and down...Usually down at night and up again in the morning. Nonetheless, you need to watch her, as Pat said, for signs. With a fever it's just the opposite...up at night and down in the day due to sleeping patterns and the tranquilness of the body @ night. I have a miniature schnauzer who's temperature drops to 99.7 to 99.9 about a week before she delivers, but don't take it for granted that this is happening in your case. Watch her very carefully and make sure she's eating and not in any distress and make sure she's not jumping around. Not trying to scare you, but I have a friend who raises maltese and one of her females went into labor and delivered two puppies (they died), stopped contractions, and had the other 6 a week later (the last 6 puppies were fine). There were just too many in there. And my friend only breeds her dogs one time, instead of three times like most of us do. Anyway, all I'm saying...continue to watch her because the pups need to stay in as long as possible and consult with your vet...Hope this is helpful... |
