How did you do the body? Clippers I assume? Use the clippers on his ears too. Hold his ear against your fingers on one hand(so you have something to press against)...holding the clippers in the other..start about 1/4 down from the top...and shave upwards to the end. So not quite the middle of the ear...and shave toward the top...in a straight motion. A mustache trimmer works well for this. You can also use it to shave paw pads. Walgreens has them for around 20 bucks....and they are battery operated.
It's hard to describe but easily done...and I bet there's a video on youtube.
I groom all of mine too....groomer fear was my inspiration. I just cut three of mine down in the cut like Nancy's Joey has.
