I have just got my second one a week ago. I had a female first and she is very social and LOVES other dogs and animals and kids etc. She was excited at first when she saw the new puppy but then realised he wasn't going away and she sulked big time! but a week later and they are great friends
yes, there is a bit of jealousy still and the toys she never liked are suddenly her favourite and he dare not touch them but it's all settling down nicely
I started to doubt what i had done but I showed no favouritism (Taylor knows she is still my champion
) and they are finding their own pecking order. She is not a dominant dog and the new puppy is, so they are just finding out who is boss by themselves. It is taking her a while to get used to his needle sharp teeth but as soon as she can't see him she goes now to find him and instigate a game.
It will take your dog a while to settle down but they will eventually. Mine now sleep in the same bed together and eat out the same bowl. It has taken some patience though!
