when i brought home Ralphie, age 1 year, a few months back, I believed that my 6 yr old girl, Billie, would never accept him. at the beginning, she didn't hurt him or snap at him, she just moped around and gave us the big guilt trip. its only been a few months, i had to separate them for the first time as Billie was having many medical tests and Ralphie stayed home. When I brought Billie back in, Ralphie ran right to her and they were bumping noses and he was licking her. and when I more recently had to separate them for a night (hubby kept Ralphie at home while I was away, I left Billie with my mom becuase Billie is on a strict diet and med regimen) they apparently each slept at the front door of each house waiting to be reunited. they are, in my limited experience, pack animals and like to be around their kind.

i am adding a third in 2 weeks, i have concerns about what that will look like, but I definitely also believe things will work out just fine!
