since being on the pred, her albumen is up at 21 now, which is almost normal range, and her globulin is within normal range. her liver enzymes were elevated, but they've gone down again, so my western vet is confident now it is the protein losing entropathy (PLE). my eastern med vet is not as confident on the diagnosis, query liver, but she is in agreement with the treatment plan for Billie. She was on calcium supplements, but she can come off them now as her calcium is up.

the main thing is her diet, I am buying buffalo & pureed veggies from a raw pet food store, and then frying it a little and adding brocolli, yams, carrots and pureeing it and Billie loves it.

i was hoping to shift to a low-fat kibble as Billie has typical yorkie teeth and i like her to have the hard food, but that will be down the road, if she weans off the pred and stays stable.

Billie’s most recent results are:

ALT value down to 66 from 95.
Albumen up to a 21 from 15.
Globulin within normal range.

YAY BILLIE!!! My little miracle.
don't worry about the teeth as this is more critical so stick with the diet that works. PLE is a tough one so diet is going to be key. Holistic Veterinarian Pet Nutritionist Holistic Pet Care is a nutritionist that has helped a few ple yorkies on this group so you may want to do a consult with her just to make sure the diet is balanced. Dogs really do not need to be on kibble to help their teeth.
