The spinal is important to see if her spinal fluid is going through at a normal speed and to rule out infection.
The x-ray will not show a subarachnoid cyst, herniated cerebellum and unless very seriously deformed it will not show the deformity at the base of the skull that is the cause of the herniated cerebellum that slows the spinal fluid and causes the cyst and hydrocephalus in Chiari. WSU is very good and only about a 6 to 7 hr drive from you. My dog is deff worth driving that for and this time of year it's a beautiful drive. The slow spinal fluid often causes false BAT , actually not false just not circulating properly due to the spinal fluid flowing through too slow. The liver test readings will most often return to normal once the dog is on meds for Chiari and the spinal fluid is going through properly. I hope this info has helped.
