Yorkie owners need to be reminded about this because yorkies have tiny mouths and must have dentals in order to prevent dental disease. I have never seen a yorkie that did not need a dental and one of the things I look for in people who apply to adopt from me is if they have done full vetting on their pups which includes dentals.
When we found him 7 weeks ago. I took him to my vet the next day. The first thing the vet said was we gotta clean the teeth ASAP. Then he looked at his ears and was stunned at how bad they were. Actually suprised he could hear at all. So we cleared up the ear infection which made the gums look a little better and, looked for the owner and gave him all the care we could. Once we decided it was okay to keep him (no collar, no micro-chip) We scheduled his nueter and teeth cleaning. He had finally started feeling better so his personality began showing. Took him in for the pre-op and found the kidney issues. The goal now is to get him healthy enough to get his teeth done so we can continue to make him well. I am so gratful for him...he is so cute with my big mutt and I love seeing them cuddle. So keep praying for the little guy and I will keep doing what I can. DWERTEN has been great and given me some great encoragement. I will give this guy the love and care I can. I would like to see him feel better so he can be happy and content. Thanks again for the help.
