yeah they can x-ray a paw. i've done it many times. you can so see all the bones in the paw. there are ways to flex the paw and leg to get the shot you need. granted you may need to sedate the dog but there is a way.

i'm thinking that if this pup broke his leg it is a fracture of the radius/ulna right above the carpus. its a very popular breaking spot on small dogs.
