The receptionist at my vet's office just called in the wrong prescription for Lady a few weeks ago. I asked for Phenobarbital and got Diazepam (Valium). Both are controlled substances. An inexcusable and potentially dangerous mistake.
OMG now I am even madder than I was!!! I didn't know Sentinel killed hookworms too, I thought it was just for heartworms!!! You are so right, if they would have checked the chart it would have shown I purchased a 12 month supply from them just last month!!!! (if I bring in lower costs off the internet, they will match the price.. in other words you get ripped off unless you ask)

I just want to add that I am so glad to have found Yorkie Talk. My Maddie is my first indoor dog. I grew up on a farm where dogs were run over and replaced with the next stray or puppy dumped on a rural farm road. My dad gave the dog rabies shots but no $$$ was spent on "dogs", only the "real" farm livestock. I have learned so much reading this forum. So many of you are so helpful without being judgemental of us "dummies". My husband gave me my Maddie as a surprise and then died suddenly 8 months later at the age of 47, so as you can imagine I would do anything I can to ensure her health and well being. This makes me so mad my trusted vet clinic would just prescribe a medication without making sure it was needed. Would adding another de-wormer done her any harm if she didn't need it?
